Wow! Some really progress has been made and its beginning to take shape. I'm really impressed in how easily everything has gone with only a few hiccups in "part 4" and how well everything has gone even though I have changed certain aspects of the original design. As you can see by the above picture I've got a spare bit of plexi-glass to start angling up my black border so the monitor will be unseen, I know what you're thinking, you can still see the monitor right? Well that's because if you are player 2 you would be unable to see certain parts of the screen if the border was any more enclosed, I have a fix for the yet to be unseen monitor which will be in the next article. But for now keep reading and check out some more pictures: ![]() One of the first issues I had was that the monitor was taking up a lot more space than I anticipated and with the speakers at both sides I had nowhere to put my keyboard and mouse when they weren't in use. To solve this instead of having an angled cover I decided to leave a little gap and use the space as shelve instead and in doing so I realised that the hole was right next to my CPU fan giving it fresh air. The above picture shows the second bracket that the keyboards shelve will be screwed into. Another job completed! I've finally added the roofing to the cabinet so that no pesky light can get too my monitor and make my retro experience less enjoyable. This was extremely difficult to do by myself but after a bit of juggling and the help of some power tools I managed to squeeze all of the parts into their correct positions, a wee bit of sanding later and perfecto. The picture above was taken while I was trying to measure up the pieces so they aren't actually in place in that picture. I've got all of the screen done etc but there is still a bit to do which will all be covered in the next article, enjoy the pictures: ![]()
