Zalman Z9 Plus Tower Case with Fan Controller

Well it hasn't half been a while since I have posted something on my website, this has mainly been due to neglect but also because of my busier times with other websites! But fear not I have an awesome post today about my PC finally getting a new case it deserves.

Ever since owning my first computer I've always wanted a case that wasn't around £30 of razorbladed tin with the sturdiness of custard tart. This hasn't been the case though (nu pun intended) with each system I have built or owned the package it comes in has often been an after thought and where the budget usually dries up. But now I've finally treated myself to a case that I can be proud of, a case that actually has a bay for an SSD drive, a case that can actually hold its side panels without groaning! First of, let's have a look at what I have been putting up with for the past few years.

Logitech G25 Great Customer Service with my Broken Wheel

A good 4-5 months ago my Logitech G25 Racing wheel started to produce a burning smell after 30 minutes or so of use, I thought nothing about this and just kept using my wheel as normal. Another month or 2 after that the smell became strong and would occur after 10 minutes of use so I knew this was getting worse but I was baring in mind that the wheel was already 20 months old. I was maybe thinking about contacting Logitech support as the G25 comes with a 2 year warranty but I didn't really want to go through the hassle of trying to find a box etc for returning my wheel so I forget about it. Well my H-Shifter lost reverse so I tried to re-install the wheel and everything from my end but the button was totally unresponsive which left me no choice in contacting Logitech's support.

Meet my new kitten Ami

I'm guessing everyone has been wondering why I haven't updated my website in such a long time, well first off I've got this little kitten named Ami. I had her a few weeks ago when she was only 6 weeks old so she has been a right handful as she's so young. Secondly I've been working on another website for my Dad and trying to get my service working properly on TSOhost which has been solved, you will hear more about that in a website update soon. Then finally work has been a pain since we had the Convicker virus and it wasn't managed to well which has giving us 3 weeks of fun clearing nearly every pc on the network. Continue reading for some more pictures and I will have more information on Ami as it come :)

An overview of my computer Setup

Tea and Crumpets! Yep I'm having a patriotic British breakfast while taking pictures of my new and slightly improved setup over last time. First off I'm sorry for the pictures my dad's camera doesn't seem to like lights but I've probably got it setup wrong also sorry about the cable mess etc I really need to sort it out! The all important computer setup has changed slightly with me removing the top section of the desk (which you can see in my old setup pics) and purchasing myself a new Monitor which has been amazing for the price! I haz Windows 7

A public beta of Windows 7 has just begun until the 1st of August 2009, you can pick up the beta for free if you can manage to grab one of the CD Keys. Anyone looking to do this must remember that this is a Beta product and can have a few issues. I downloaded it the other day and installed into onto one of my spare hard drives and was presently impressed in how well it ran so I thought to actually use the beta I would upgrade my version of Vista to Windows 7 beta. I read a website saying it took them 16mins to upgrade from vista SP1 to Windows 7 Beta... Well It took me around 3-4 hours! Saying that I have around 400GB of data on this drive but still it took a fair amount of time to upgrade. After the upgrade had completed everything seems to be running fine apart from it uninstalled demon tools (guessing driver issues) and Google Chrome didn't work, this is something to do with 64 Bit and you can easily fix it by adding this code to your shortcut:

C:\Users\Maxi\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --in-process-plugins

Apart from that everything has been working fine and all my programs/games are still working since the upgrade, I will keep you updated and maybe write some articles on the new features.
