An overview of my computer Setup

Tea and Crumpets! Yep I'm having a patriotic British breakfast while taking pictures of my new and slightly improved setup over last time. First off I'm sorry for the pictures my dad's camera doesn't seem to like lights but I've probably got it setup wrong also sorry about the cable mess etc I really need to sort it out! The all important computer setup has changed slightly with me removing the top section of the desk (which you can see in my old setup pics) and purchasing myself a new Monitor which has been amazing for the price! Updates:

I haz Windows 7

A public beta of Windows 7 has just begun until the 1st of August 2009, you can pick up the beta for free if you can manage to grab one of the CD Keys. Anyone looking to do this must remember that this is a Beta product and can have a few issues. I downloaded it the other day and installed into onto one of my spare hard drives and was presently impressed in how well it ran so I thought to actually use the beta I would upgrade my version of Vista to Windows 7 beta. I read a website saying it took them 16mins to upgrade from vista SP1 to Windows 7 Beta... Well It took me around 3-4 hours! Saying that I have around 400GB of data on this drive but still it took a fair amount of time to upgrade. After the upgrade had completed everything seems to be running fine apart from it uninstalled demon tools (guessing driver issues) and Google Chrome didn't work, this is something to do with 64 Bit and you can easily fix it by adding this code to your shortcut:

C:\Users\Maxi\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --in-process-plugins

Apart from that everything has been working fine and all my programs/games are still working since the upgrade, I will keep you updated and maybe write some articles on the new features.

Phew! These updates are coming thick and fast for the time being, only a short one with a few minor tweaks I have been sorting out over the past few days:

  • Changed the home page to blog latest content
  • Cleaned out some backend stuff which wasn't being used
  • Edited the "Alias" for articles and menus giving a cleaner web link
  • Fixed some images from news stories/LBP Beta article
  • Re-arranged some of the menus for more suitable use
  • Found even more typos!

Erm that really was short, well enjoy.

Finally got a little free time this weekend for my website. I'm still really busy with the Schools website which is progressing really well. Still I'll have to keep this update short but hopefully I'll have a feature on how we installed our Digital Signage system along with a new upcoming CCTV system. Here whats happened to my website since you last checked:

  • Fixed some of the menu errors
  • Altered menu Ids for easier searching
  • Fixed a large amount of typos and I know there are still 100s to be found
  • Editied some broken images
  • Added my impression on the LBP beta
  • Upcoming Toyoko Game Show predictions

A little personal update right here. School has re-opened its terrifying doors meaning I'm getting a flood of work at the moment with forgotten passwords, resetting up rooms and un-plugged cables. Then along with that we have gained a new plasma TV for the entrance with specialist software to make it a digital signage system... I'll have more about that soon. Right first week is over and what do you know, they want me to make a new website for them! So my personal website might not get any updates for a while as I will have to spend all my productive web development time of their website. I've been fixing some issues behind the scenes and if I find enough I'll post up website update #2.
