I remember getting my Sega Saturn at Christmas knowing that I would finally be able to play arcade games at home, the biggest title I was looking forward to was of course Sega Rally. I spent many of hours on the Sega Rally arcade machine when I would go visit my grandmother in South Wales (close to beaches) dreaming that one day I would be able to play a game with these kind of graphics at home for free. More about that in my gaming history section, but now let's focus on Sega Rally rather than arcade dreaming home living. I was still fairly young when Sega Rally came out so I still found it challenging when trying to complete the 4 courses, this made for hours of play much of which was spent on the easiest desert track. My brother had the advance of 4 years on me so whenever we would play multiplayer I would get owned which would then end up me insisting we would play buses. Yep... Sega Rally buses... It actually used to be fun back then and really made you admire the graphics (this was my first 3D gaming console) and the technology behind the Sega Saturn. As years went by I finally started to get the hang of Sega Rally and spent a good amount of time trying to set the fastest laps against my brother. He would still always beat me but at least I was starting to catch up and cause a wee bit of competition for my brother. He began to get really good at the game causing for some insane laptimes, if my memory is right (which it never usually is) he used to get around 52 seconds on the desert track. Sega Rally still holds a place in my heart as one of the most easiest pick up and play good-fun titles of my gaming career and still to this day if I see an Sega Rally arcade machine I'm forced to have a go. |

Well I've been updating the website in the background and tweaking odd things. Here is a list of what I've changed over the past month or so: - Removed some un-needed categories
- Installed a custom code component that allows me to add raw html code
- Added a new MP3 player for "The Digitalist's" mixes
- Added a wee GDGT widget to display some of my gadgets
- Re-ordered some articles and removed some broken test ones
- Added Influential Games un my "About Me" section (this covers my top games)
- I'm now able to import articles straight from Word but the formatting is a little off
- Fixed some CSS errors

SEGAAAA! Oh how I used to sing along with the intro to Sonic The Hedgehog. As a child I didn't own a Sega Mega drive and was stuck with the Master System but a few times a year I was lucky enough to visit my uncles who both had Mega Drives. As soon as my brother and myself would enter my uncles house we would patiently wait for the "Yes, you can setup the mega drive" line and we would pounce! We would spend hours taking it in turns playing Sonic the Hedgehog seeing how far we could make it into the game. I would have only been 5 or so, so gaming was fairly challenging at that age but yet incredibly enjoyable. Even to this day I really enjoy Sonic the Hedgehog, not just for nostalgic reasons but the music, gameplay and graphics always have a great feel to them and have really aged quite well in comparison to some other titles from the age period. Sonic the Hedgehog was the first title I played on the Mega Drive and one of my most enjoyable gaming titles over the years. |

Welcome to some of my most influential games. Here you will find some brief write ups of games that mean a lot to me and have been my biggest titles over my gaming history. Some of these might alright be shown in my gaming history timeline but I'm hoping this will shed more light into why these games mean so much to me. Not every game is an AAA title or is in the list for the reason it was a huge game, generally I have added them as they were the games that shaped my gaming history. As you read though you will know most of them will be Sega based games but I am not a Sega fanboy by any means it's just the only consoled I owned as a young lad so it's what I played most of my games on. So read through some of my biggest titles over my gaming career using the links above and below: |
