our new and not yet 100% working video conferencing system

Well here is our new and greatly improved video conferencing system for the school pupils. Last year the pupils won a competition with BT which gave us £5000 to improve our video conferencing facilities, we were using Skype with a Logitech webcam and tried to setup a Polycom unit without much luck. For the school's new system we are using a huge 42" Samsung PDP TV alongside a Tandberg Edge 95 MX video conference system.

The Tandberg system boasts live HD streaming to other devices capable of HD with the option to scale down to lower resolutions with systems that aren't capable, add a fully controllable motorised camera with numerous features and the ability to display both video feeds from other devices such as DVD players and PCs all simultaneously. It isn't fully setup at the moment due to some very technical difficulties that we experienced keep reading to see what happened along with some more close-ups:

Trying to setup the video conferencing system was a pain due to all of our details being controlled by the council who all seemed to have a week off at the time the system got delivered. We tried to get some information off our old Polycom unit as that seemed to work before hand, while dealing so the Polycom unit decided to fry itself and will no longer turn on. After finally getting in contact with our local council we managed to get the details we needed and set up a test call but in doing so we realised that the council has blocked outgoing calls and we can only receive calls from other locations. Yet again another hurdle, we are now in the process of trying to get this unblocked so we can actually let teachers use our new Tandberg system. Check out the pictures below of all the inputs, etc.
